Abstract:

Basque students in the Western Basque Country do not know the geography of our nation very well. When a teacher asks them to locate the village of Sohüta, in Zuberoa (Northern Basque Country), most of them place it in France. Few are those who place it in the Northern Basque Country.

Spaniards often repeat that in the schools of the Basque Country children are politically manipulated and turned into Basque nationalists. It is obvious that if this were the case, everyone would know that Zuberoa belongs to the Basque Country, and not to France.
